At Fresh Air Media, we think everyone should be full of inspiration. From keynotes that energize, to columns that hit home, we bring life to your organization’s objectives. Our drive is to make sure that people understand. It’s why we’ve grown a client list across North America & an audience around the world.

For us, it starts with experience. Not everyone that talks about agriculture, lives agriculture. For us – we just have to head out the back door. Our dairy & grain farm in Southern Ontario sees us milking Holstein & Jersey cattle and growing corn, soybeans, wheat & hay. It’s Andrew’s family farm, a family that sees farming go back more generations than they’ve got records for. (And the records go back to 1794 in Scotland). That means that when we talk about what it means to produce food, or raise a family in a rural community, or what it takes to balance a busy life as a millennial couple – we know first hand.

For Andrew, he left the farm for a period of time to pursue a career in journalism. But once he took on the job of covering agriculture business news, he realized that life on the farm was where he wanted to be. Fortunately before that, he’d met Jess.

Jess is an accomplished storyteller. Sometimes, those stories are her own. But mostly, she helps other people tell their own stories in the best way possible, and has been doing so for a number of years.

Whether you need ideas – and written posts! – for a blog series or a feature editorial complete with interviewed sources, Jess is your writer. Her favourite thing about writing for her clients is the opportunity to hear their stories; to learn everything there is to know about a topic or person and then bring that story to life in a way that connects with and inspires audiences. It’s what has and will continue to drive her to do her best writing for her clients, always.

When she’s not working with clients, Jess is many things, including but not limited to: aspiring author, outstanding baker (just ask her father-in-law), mum to Fresh Air Media’s next generation, car-and-shower singer, ukulele enthusiast, inflexible yogi, inspired mental health advocate, covetous reader of all the books, semi-devoted half marathon runner, fully devoted Toronto Raptors fan, and unabashed Harry Potter/J.K. Rowling fanatic (which is fitting given her following quote).

“There’s always room for a story that can transport people to another place.”

~ J.K. Rowling

Together, Andrew & Jess see that communication isn’t simply about a news item or an ad. It is about trust. It is about relationships & they want to build as many as possible. One of Andrew’s more publicized efforts to build that trust was about helping consumers understand what a modern farm looked like. Through his eyes, he posted daily pictures of everything from cows being milked at sunrise to harvesting at sunset. It caught the (positive) attention of national media outlets and the (negative) attention of activists keen to shut his efforts down through harassment & threats. So when Andrew talks about the good & bad of reaching out of your own business and into the public realm – he knows first hand how to get through it all. Andrew has gone on from that to build a recognizable personal brand that goes beyond the farm – but into homes, classrooms, farm markets & more.
